I’ve seen quite a few blog posts that talk about people keeping gratitude journals. Some are long, some are workbooks and some are just simple thoughts.
I think this is a really good idea and I’ve decided to start one. I’m going to keep it really simple. I have nice little Diary from Typo that I got as a gift and I never used it because it was just too small for anything. But, I think I can put it to good use now.
I’m going to start with writing just one thing I’m grateful for everyday. It’s such a nice way to feel good about the things we have in life. There’s even research to prove that people who express gratitude feel good about themselves and it alleviates depression. I guess it also ties in somewhat with the law of attraction. The more we are thanful for the things we have and the more positive thoughts we express, the more we attract positivity into our life. Some people also do it as a part of religion or spirituality.
I think I’m going to try it.
I call it my “thankful list.” It’s been an amazing addition to my life; especially as someone who’s prone to negative thinking on occasion. (Ok, maybe more than occasionally…) Like all things practiced, it’s become habit forming. That is, I find myself looking for things to be grateful for instead of negative about. Up over 13,000 and counting! Another unexpected benefit is looking back at the list. It’s a pretty remarkable way of cataloging moments that would otherwise get lost, glossed over, and/or forgotten. Anyway, sorry for the long response, but I’m a believer. It’s really done that much for me. Hope you find your own grateful!

The law of attraction is extremely powerful. I think what you’re doing is a great idea and can really help shape your attitude and perspective on life. It did for me, at least! I think our minds word in a way that we seek and find whatever we are deeply concentrated on. Its amazing! Good luck 😀

Started to really focus on gratitude just over a year ago and it has really changed the way I see the world. I started to wear a beaded bracelet that had many small beads on it. During meditation I would hold each bead in my hand and think of something I was grateful for. By the end of the meditation I was swimming in joy. Sadly that bracelet broke but I still try to focus on gratitude
