Last week, by the time I realized that I had missed writing my regular weekly Thoughts for Thursday, it was no point anymore. I’ve been a bit out of it for the last few weeks. Between taking extra precautions while going to work and all the news I’d been watching, I was simply exhausted.

Switch off…

So last Friday (which is the weekend for us), I decided not to look at any of the news apps on my phone. I dismissed all alerts and notifications. I simply decided to have a stress-free day. I read, watched some TV shows, spent time with my daughter learning about the rivers of the world and made a nice meal for dinner. By the end of the day, I realized I just felt so light and I had a smile on my face.

Pay attention to your mental well-being…

I know everyone is so worried about their physical health right now. I agree that it definitely takes priority over everything. Staying safe should be number one on our list. But, it’s also important not to neglect our mental health.

Take a moment…

Whether we admit or not, what the world is going through is definitely stressful. Even if you know you’re safely tucked away at home, watching the rest of the world suffer and die is so disturbing. I know you can’t hide away from it or ignore it. In fact, it’s important to know what’s going on. But switching off once in a while could be beneficial.

We have to learn to take a moment. Take a moment to mourn the people who are directly affected, take a moment to mourn the people who have lost their jobs and income and then take a moment of peace and quiet for ourselves.

Happy Thursday all… Stay Safe and “here’s wishing you good mental health!!”
