Afraid and confused

And just like that, there’s a change…

He is so in love with her,

All he thinks about is her

All he can ask for is to see her

All he can do is want to be with her.

She is happy but confused,

Happy but afraid.

Of course she’s afraid,

Because no one ever loved her like this before,

No one ever kept on loving her like this before

Quick update and book buying frenzy

It’s been a gruesome few weeks and I haven’t had much time for writing. Actually, that not true. It’s not that I didn’t exactly have the time, it’s just that I didn’t have the energy to sit and write out any posts.

I started the year thinking I could post almost every day…. and it wasn’t a bad start at all. But my busy, busy life keeps getting in the way.

So what have I been up to in the last few weeks other than work. Going out to catch up with friends, watching TV shows or reading. Ah reading… yes, I’ve managed to do quite a bit of that. I’ve also managed to do quite a bit of shopping. I bought 7 books over the last 2 weeks but I have no idea when I’m going to finish reading them. I had promised myself not to buy any more books until I could at least finish few of the ones I have. I never listen to myself! So here are the books I bought

  1. Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandries – Neil DeGrasse Tyson
  2. World Order – Henry Kissinger
  3. Still Alice – Lisa Genova
  4. Fermat’s Enigma: The Epic Quest to Solve the World’s Greatest Mathematical Problem – Simon Singh
  5. The Real Life MBA: You no B-S Guide to Winning the Game, Building a Team, and Growing your Career – Jack Welch and Suzy Welch
  6. Wild – Cheryl Strayed
  7. Fifty Shades of Grey – E.L. James

Yes, you read the last one right. I finally gave into all the hype and bought the book. A friend of mine is hooked on the book(s) and insisted that I am missing something. Well, I don’t know how true that is, having read half way through, but I thought… Oh well, let’s satisfy my curiosity. If you look at the reviews on Amazon, some of them are pretty brutal and needless to say it piqued my interest. The star ratings are almost all ones or fives, very few in the middle. So I guess people either love the book or hate it. i won’t comment until I get through it.

Enough from me now…

Perks of Kindle-ing

Any one who loves books, probably doesn’t love the Kindle all that much. I said books, not reading. Well neither did I, until I realized that there are really several advantages to Kindle-ing. Ever since Amazon came up with the Kindle app, my views have changed. I still love paper books and love buying them, but the Kindle has it’s own perks.

1) Since I have it on my tab and on my phone, I can literally read anywhere, even when I’ve forgotten to carry my book along.

2) No one can see what you’re reading. So sometimes when you want to read a physics book you don’t have to explain stuff to people who have a puzzled look on their face.

3) You can read at work. People will think you’re working on your tab.

4) You can switch between books, because you can and you don’t have to lug around the weight.

5) You can read really fat books with one hand and without a sore shoulder.

6) You can easily increase the font size when you’ve forgotten your reading glasses.

6) The best part… you don’t have to wait. One click and you can’t instantly start reading the book that you just heard about. You don’t have to walk to the store or wait till your order arrives.

Having said all of this, I will still never stop buying paper books. 🙂
