Happy New Year!

This New Year’s Eve was spent at home with family. No parties, no late nights. I stayed up till midnight just because it would be wrong not to. I watched the fireworks on YouTube from the comfort of my bed, under the covers. I could help but think back to the times when I thought that I would never ring in the New Year in bed. I’d always make sure I was somewhere. It’s funny how things that seem so important at some point in life, no longer hold the same gravity. Honestly, I was just as happy to be home with my daughter as I was in the days I’d go out to parties.

A quote I want to live by

Life is not always a matter of holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand well. – Jack London

Read more books this year

I’m still not making any resolutions for the year, in keeping with my tradition. May be the only thing that I do want to do more of this year is read a few more books. Last year I managed to read only 19 books. This year, I hope to do much better and surpass that number by at least 10.

Keep to a writing schedule

I feel quite proud of myself for sticking to my Thursday posting schedule. I definitely want to write more this year and the only way to create some discipline is to create a schedule for myself. So, starting this weekend, I will attempt to create and stick to a writing and blogging schedule.
