When you’re younger, you’re fearless. You don’t care about running on rooftops or cycling down a one-way street. Your mind doesn’t think that far. All you care about is the next thing in front of you.
You’re not bogged down with the weight of the world on your shoulder.
Sometimes, I miss being young. Feeling carefree. Feeling like bills are not coming due at the end of the month.
But, life doesn’t work backwards. And somewhere along the way, we started to become afraid. Afraid of what tomorrow might bring, afraid of what people might think and afraid of how successful you might be.
I realized that even when I wanted to succeed, I was hedging myself. I was cautious with my words when I spoke about launching a new business.
While my heart was fully ready to succeed, my mind was not. I realized that in order to for me to live it, I really had to believe it. And the only way I could believe it was to change my outlook and my tone.
I had to manifest what I wanted through my words. This isn’t about positive affirmations or repeating a mantra to yourself. This is about changing the way you speak about everything, every step of the way.
It’s a funny parallel but, this is how people beat lie detectors. If you believe a lie to the a truth, in your mind, it’s not a lie.
Over the past several months, I’ve made an active effort to do better with the way I speak. This is not just helping with being more positive but as well, it builds more confidence in what I’m undertaking. It’s certainly helping me believe in success and what do you know, it’s even attracting some of that success.
